4 Better Ways To Answer "Why Are You Leaving Your Job?"

Image result for job interviewHiring managers are just people, and people are naturally curious. That means at some point during the interview, you’re going to get the question, “So, why are you leaving your current job?”

Obviously, you want to be honest in an interview. You’re leaving your job for a reason. But you should really try your best to refrain from being negative. Focus on what you have to look forward to, not what you’re leaving behind. To give you an idea of what I mean, here are four fairly blunt reasons why you might be job searching, and how to translate them into tactful responses.

1. You Want to Make More Money

Who doesn’t wish they were paid more? It’s a completely normal thing, but perhaps not the best to bring up during an interview —at least not until the hiring manager is more invested in you.

Here’s what to say instead:

During my three years at LBD, I had the opportunity to really develop a strong skill set in data analysis, quantitative reasoning, and programming. And, while it was a great learning experience and I enjoyed contributing to the team, I’m ready to join a company that values my skills and allows me to use them more fully.

2. Your Boss Is a Jerk

There’s no other way to put it: You have a terrible boss. Mention briefly and neutrally that you two are on separate tracks and move on. Wrap it up with something positive about the company.

Here’s how to phrase it:

I realized the leadership of my team was going in a different direction, and I’m interested in working in a more collaborative environment. It was a hard decision to make because I love the mission of the company, but I ultimately think this is the right choice.

3. You Want to Get Promoted

This is probably the tamest reason to be job searching. In fact, even the blunt version is more or less fine. But, if you want to go into a bit more detail, you can definitely put a positive spin on the answer.

Here’s how to say it:

I’m ready for the next challenge in my career. I loved the people I worked with and the projects I worked on, but at some point I realized I wasn’t being challenged the way I used to be. Rather than let myself get too comfortable, I decided to pursue a position where I can continue to grow.

4. Your Job Is Just Generally Crappy

Sugarcoat a turd, and it’s still a turd. Rather than try to make your job sound less awful than it is, focus instead on the one or two things that drew you to that position, how it was ultimately a bad fit, and what you look forward to in a new role.

Here’s how to put it politely:

I was really excited to start in a role that worked so closely with local wildlife and contributed to such a meaningful cause. I think, because of that, I neglected to learn more about the actual ins and outs of the company. It didn’t take me long to realize that I wasn’t a good cultural fit. Since then I’ve been seeking a role in a company that values transparency, one where I can continue to make an impact.

Notice how all of these responses have at least one thing that’s positive about the interviewee’s previous role? You don’t get any points for recounting each and every flaw of your last supervisor. Your best bet is to take the high road and look to the future.

Why We Cheat On Our Husbands - Nigerian Women Open Up

It is a well accepted fact that while men are more likely to be unfaithful, women are also capable of the same, depending on the situation.
Most men would usually cite reasons such as boredom, opportunity, temptation, etc, as what pushed them to adultery, but women, being the more emotional gender, often state different reasons.

In a society like ours, women are not very forthcoming about sex-related issues much less open up about infidelity, but Naij.com has been able to gather some reactions from a few Nigerian women under conditions of anonymity.
Names have been changed to protect the identity of the subjects.

1. Loneliness:

“My husband works in the airline industry and this means he travels very often. Sometimes we spend as long as 6 months apart. I did not actually plan and set out to be unfaithful but it was getting very difficult and lonely. I recently started an affair with a co-worker and we get together about once a week.”

2. Excitement:
“Before I got married, 2 years ago, I was the fun, party girl everyone loved to hang out with. Since being married, my life has become quite dull. Two weeks ago, I met a very good-looking guy on social media and he made me feel all the excitement that I have missed. I have only been intimate with him once and I do not intend to make this a regular affair.”
Nike* 26

3. Payback:
“My husband and I have been married for a little over 25 years and in that time, my husband has been the consummate bed-hopper. He has slept with everything from maids to executives. Now, I am done raising my kids and I seem to have a little extra time on my hands. I started dating an old friend who also happens to be married. I love my husband but it has been great to enjoy some of the pleasure he has afforded himself all these years.”
Ogechi* 45
4. Sex Drive:
“My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years, and I can count the number of times we have been intimate. He hardly initiates sex and sometimes, when I do, he gets very angry and pushes me away aggressively. He even sometimes resorts to calling me names. It has been months since the last time he and I had sex. Last year, I met a guy at a wedding. We both started hanging out as friends but soon after, our conversation became more sexual and it was only a matter of time until things got physical.”
Cynthia* 31

5. The Ex-factor:

“Before my husband and I got married about 6 years ago, I had a boyfriend who I really wanted to settle down with. We were from separate tribes and our families did not approve of our relationship. Eventually, I met and married my husband, who my parents loved. I still have feelings for my ex, who is still single. He and I are still very close. We talk every day. I open up to him and tell him everything going on in my life. Sometimes, I pay him a visit and let him comfort me when I am down. We have been intimate from time to time and whenever I am with him, I feel more loved and cared for than I ever felt with my own husband. I cannot help it.”

10 Things Every Pregnant Wife Needs From Her Husband

Image result for pregnant women
Pregnancy has been a serious time of learning, adjusting, and embracing. Here are 10 things every pregnant wife needs from her husband.

1. Respond to the announcement of the baby and gender announcement appropriately.

Your reaction to the initial announcement that your wife is pregnant means the world to your wife. When we found out we were pregnant I was equally as excited as my wife. The challenge came when we are about to find out the gender of the baby. I can honestly say I thought we were having a boy.

I remember the look on my face when we found out we were having a girl. I had to quickly adjust in order to not disappoint my wife. This is such an important moment for her, so she needs to know you are just as excited as she is! This is all a part of the journey.

2. Tell her she is beautiful and mean it.

Your wife is going through a lot of changes and with those changes comes a hit to her confidence. Hearing you are beautiful from the man she loves more than anything is something that will keep her heart secure in your love.

3. Start interacting with the baby.

The baby is developing inside of your wife, which makes it really hard for you to feel connected to the baby like your wife is. This is why you must make intentional steps to interacting with the baby. One thing I would do each night after my wife falls asleep is hold her belly and pray over my baby girl. This really helped me to start interacting with her.

4. Massage every part of her body, especially her back.

This right here will make her fall in love with you all over again. This should be done at least one time every day. Take sometime and ask your wife where she would like a massage, and I guarantee you will have one happy wife.

5. Don’t take it personal.

Do not take the things that may come out of your wives mouth personal.

6. Adjust to her changing love languages

During pregnancy, the way your wife receives love will change. Try out different things to continue meeting her needs.

7. Learn what is happening in her mind and body.

Read books that will help you better understand what is happening in her body. I subscribed to a pregnancy app that sends me emails each morning with a new tip and update on where my wife is in her pregnancy weeks. This helps in our conversations, and even when we are at doctors appointments.

8. Go to all doctors appointment.

I was late to our first appointment due to work and the look on my wife’s face when I arrived was something I never want to see again. Your wife wants you at every appointment, so make every effort possible to be at each one.

9. Let her sleep.

Your wife will experience a strong drain of energy. Take up some extra responsibilities around the house in order to allow her to rest.

10. Be patient and enjoy the journey.

Pregnancy is a journey and if you can be patient with your wife along the ride, your relationship will be come stronger than ever. This is the preparation time for entry into one of the most rewarding seasons of your life.

Jonathan Deceived Ndigbo On2nd Niger Bridge, Ohanaeze Tells Buhari

ABUJA—Ohanaeze Ndigbo Caretaker Committee, yesterday, told the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, that President Jonathan lied to the Igbo nation about awarding contract for the construction of Second Niger bridge and major federal roads in the South East.
Image result for ohanaeze ndigbo
Listing Enugu-Awka-Onitsha Expressway and Enugu-Umuahia-Aba Expressway, the committee said that up till now, work was yet to start at the sites.

It added that no financial commitment had been made by the Federal Government to commence the construction of the Second Niger Bridge, saying that those were deceptive campaign messages to Ndigbo.

The committee made the revelation during its congratulatory visit to Buhari at the Defence House in Abuja.
The leader of the delegation, Chief Ralph

, who spoke on behalf of the Committee, however, told the President-elect that the South-east was a silent supporter of his presidential ambition.
He also stated that the region would fully support the incoming government to succeed, urging him to reconstruct Nigeria.

Revisitation of the report of Oputa Panel and the issue of abandoned property in the country were also other matters the committee presented before Buhari.

He said: “This is a delegation of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Caretaker Committee, who proudly took side with you, convinced that what Nigeria needs today is the leadership that you will provide to rebuild our battered and pulverised nation.

“The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Caretaker Committee is fully aware of the difficult and daunting work that has befallen on your shoulders. And we are here to offer our commitment that Ndigbo will stand shoulder to shoulder with you on this mission to reconstruct our nation.

“We are also aware that our cry of marginalization is not unique to our region, but ours stands out as an SOS case as a region criminally neglected and abandoned by the outgoing administration.

“During your campaign tours, you saw things for yourself and needless reminding Your Excellency that South-east is an emergency case. You drove through the badly neglected and impassable Enugu-Awka-Onitsha Expressway and the Enugu-Umuahia-Aba Expressway, needless to mention the Oba-Okigwe Highway.

“Contrary to the election claims by the outgoing administration, no appreciable work is going on these roads, information has shown that no financial arrangement has been firmed up for the Second Nigeria Bridge. The Oputa Panel report has been gathering dust and Ndigbo have pleaded for the revisitation of the so-called abandoned property in Nigeria and its collateral reparation demand.
“One common denominator is that unknown to a vast majority of Nigerians, Ndigbo were the silent majority supporters of General Muhammadu Buhari, GMB, but a twist of “what is wrong with Nigerian” electoral result cannot prove it.

Obioha also made a case for the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, to be ceded to the South-east.

“This body, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Caretaker Committee, is a baby conceived by Chris Ngige and delivered by Chief Mbazulike Ameachi and handed over to Ndigbo to check excesses of the people who were just agents of a pre-determined agenda.

“Your Excellency, you were aware that the South-east was targeted by the PDP rigging machine which produced an election result that denied the zone of even a single senator and only three non-ranking House of Representatives members.
“Ndigbo request that you adopt the principle of necessity to give the zone the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation which is your prerogative and in addition, a position of one Presiding Officer in the House of Representatives,” he stated.

According to the leader, Buhari assured them of equity.

“He gave us assurance that he is going to treat the entire nation as his constituency for all and we believe him,” he said

Also speaking, a member of the delegation, Senator Chris Ngige said that though the party was yet to make a categorical statement on the issue of SGF, he was optimistic that it would eventually consider the South- east.

“Well, I was in the first delegation that came the last time, but we cannot say for now that our party has zoned the position of SGF to the South-east because we have a Senate committee that is still working on distribution of party offices, executive and that of legislature which is where we have the Senate President, Deputy Senate President, Speaker, Deputy Speaker of the House of the Representative as presiding officers.

Muazu Mocks Fayose with Buhari Death-wish (photo)

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, has responded to the threat of Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State to release evidence of Mu’azu’s “underhand dealings” with the All Progressives Congress.

PDOP Chair, Adamu Muazu

The PDP National Chairman had faulted the calls of some PDP leaders on him and other members of the National Working Committee of the party to resign, following the heavy defeat suffered by the party in the recent general elections, especially its loss in the presidential poll.

Fayose, one of those pushing for the resignation of Mu’azu, had threatened that he would release incriminating evidence of the national chairman’s secret support for the APC, if Mu’azu pushed further his defence.

On his twitter handle on Thursday, Mu’azu, who is said to be outside the country, mocked the controversial governor, wondering if the Ekiti governor’s “evidence” would not be like his “evidence” during the presidential campaign, when Fayose said he was sure that the APC presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, was dying in a London hospital.

Don’t Abandon My Administration’s Ongoing Projects, Jonathan Urges Buhari

Image result for jonathan and buhariABUJA- AHEAD of the formal handing over to the President- Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, retd, May 29, President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday urged the incoming Administration not to abandon the on going projects especially the Light Rail project in the nation’s capital city, Abuja.

President Jonathan admitted yesterday that the Federal Government was owing Julius Berger and other Construction firms presently working on the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua way (Airport Road), Kubwa Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX) and the Abuja light Rail respectively, promising that he would pay the outstanding bills before he leaves office.

PRESIDENT-ELECT RETIRED MAJ.-GEN. MUHAMMADU BUHARI (L) IN A HANDSHAKE WITH PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN DURING HIS OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE PRESIDENTIAL VILLA IN ABUJA
ON FRIDAY (24/4/15).WITH THEM IS THE FORMER CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF,RETIRED LT.-GEN. ABDUHRAMAN DAMBAZAU.
Speaking yesterday when he inspected three major ongoing projects in Abuja to ascertain the level of completion, President Jonathan stressed that settling the bills became imperative against the backdrop that the projects have changed the face of the nation’s capital, Abuja, just as he asked the President-elect, General Mohammadu Buhari, retd, to complete all ongoing projects initiated by his administration.

The President who took a ride in the ongoing Abuja Mass Transit Light Rail project to personally assess the extent of its implementation, however hailed the level of work done, disclosed that he personally inspected progress on the project as that would guide him properly on what exactly to tell Buhari when they meet soon to discuss.

The projects the President inspected yesterday were the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua way (Airport Road), Kubwa Outer Northern Expressway (ONEX) and the Abuja light Rail respectively.

Jonathan who stressed the importance of rail development in effective mass transit in the country as he observed that any other way would be inefficient and more expensive, also inspected the new rehabilitated and expanded 10-lane Airport Road named Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Expressway which is nearing completion.

The road project was part of the Outer Southern Expressway and Outer Northern Expressway that had been awarded by the administration of Yar’Adua at the cost of N257 billion in separate lots to Julius Berger, Messrs Dantata and Sawoe and CGC Nigeria Limited.

The President, while assessing the Airport Road, disclosed that the contract was awarded in May 2009 and that there was 30 kilometer of telecommunication on the road which has now changed the face of Abuja.

Meanwhile, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Senator Bala Mohammed who noted that the roads have reduced traffic from city center, pointed out that there was still an outstanding bill of between N5 to N15 billion the federal government was owing the Contractors.

Speaking further, President Jonathan who hailed the Contractors and the FCTA Minister, revealed that the road was now at 98 percent completion, just as he urged the new government to ensure the completion because it serves as a gateway to the city of Abuja, saying that the world appreciates the road.

President Jonathan said, “I emphasised the need for train system in terms of developing an effective mass transit in any nation. We will be talking about mass transit and you cannot talk about mass transit using taxis, small cars, even the luxurious buses. It will be too expensive.

“Until our rail system works, that’s why we are emphasising inter city and intra city, normal rail intra city light rail systems. Of course, this government is leaving on the 29th. The incoming government will definitely continue because this is a noble project to Nigerians especially residents of the FCT.

“We are quite appreciative of the level of cooperation. The CCECC has been doing very well. Of course, the Ministry of the Federal Capital Territory. They are doing wonderfully well. I’m quite impressed. I have be wanting to come and inspect the project for a very long time but for challenges in terms of my commitments.

“I think, this period, I really need to so that when I am having conversation with the incoming president, I will know exactly what to tell him because I have seen it myself, I have seen the level of completion. Of course, you know the usefulness of this project in terms of easing the movement of the people in the Federal Capital Territory. I have to congratulate Nigerians for this project.

“It is the plan of this government to replicate this in all the state capitals. I hope the new government will replicate it in other state capitals. “We must make sure that the most pending bill myself and the Finance Minister will be discussing now how to sort out your bills before the 29th of May, be rest assured that this project will be completed because this project has really changed the face of Abuja.

“When you visit a country, the airport and the road leading from the airport into the main city will give you the first impression of the country and that’s why we are quite passionate about it. We want to do a similar thing in Lagos, but I believe that the new government will come up and do better, we have done well and we appreciate what we are doing and we will also try and meet up our own obligation.

“These projects really have improved the face of Abuja tremendously and people come to Abuja full of praises, if you look at all these, it is really making Abuja a real modern city, we are quite pleased with the progress of work, and we will do our best to see that the commitments of the government are met.”

Also commissioning the Kubwa express way and the main terminus of the Abuja light rail project in Idu, Federal Capital Territory, President GoodLuck stated that the light rail was key to ensure that commuters pay less fares which explains why the government plans for inter city rail which would link Abuja to other cities to ensure that every city in the country was linked to the rail system.

President Jonathan said, “The use of Taxis, small buses, even the big buses are too expensive, but for real effective mass transit where commuters are made to pay very low rate, of course the rail system is key and that is why the government has this plan for city rails like this and intercity rail system.

“Then within the big cities, Abuja, Lagos and others, we encourage governors of these states, where we need to partner with them, we partner with them, where they can do it alone, they do it to make sure that we have within the city like within these phases , though we are leaving on the 29th of May, I believe that by the time we finish this main lot one and two, this other one to come on stream maybe in two years time or in five years time, but I believe that it will come on stream.

“When people begin to enjoy this and commuters now know the cost implication that the savings is low for them, we will implore the government to handle the other one, I believe it will surely come on board, we are very hopeful that Nigerians especially residents of the FCT will enjoy this when it is ready.

Speaking further, FCTA Minister, Senator Mohammed explained that some of the advantages of the project include, to reduce the travel time on the busy airport express road, to create employment as well as improve the socio- economic well being of Nigeria citizens.

He said, “We must accept and appreciate what the federal government has done in terms of financing this project and the outstanding payment of this project which is about N5 billion and of cause looking at the total amount of the project you will discover the the federal government has done very well.”

Also speaking while inspecting the light rail project at Idu, Director of Transport, FCT Transport Secretariat, Alex Usuma, revealed that the official date of completion of the rail project remains December 2015. He added that the project is already at 61 percent completion.

According to him the administration was working on lot 1A and 3 at the moment because of financial constraints, adding that the start point of the rail service will be the location where the NNPC mega station presently occupies.

A diplomatic mission is a group of people from one state or an international inter-governmental organisation (such as the United Nations) present in another state to represent the sending state/organisation officially in the receiving state. In practice, a diplomatic mission usually denotes the resident mission, namely the office of a country's diplomatic representatives in the capital city of another country. As well as being a diplomatic mission to the country in which it is situated, it may also be a non-resident permanent mission to one or more other countries. There are thus resident and non-resident embassies.
