Thugs suspected to be working for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today unleashed terror on party members of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state.
The hoodlums, numbering about eight, attacked innocent members of the APC while observing their weekly meeting at ward 9, Iro, on Ayelabola Street, Akure, the state capital.
The criminals also vandalized and smashed the windscreen of an 18-seated Toyota Campaign Bus used by the party at the ward.

A card-carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Ifedayo Ologbosere who narrated the incident to SaharaReporters said the hoodlums came in on a motorcycle to disrupt the meeting.
“We are about to start the meeting proper, after our ward Chairman had asked one of the members to stand up and pray to commence the meeting.
“Suddenly the hoodlums just came in and disrupted the meeting. They came with bags of pure water and started throwing and bathing us with the water,” he said.
Mr. Ologbosere added that some of the party members where chased and stoned to a point of death, adding that the matter has been reported with to the police.
“Not only water, some used stone and they chased our members with the aim of killing them. We just have to scamper for safety and everywhere was in disarray. Many of our members were badly injured.”
A trader in the street told SaharaReporters that the suspected criminals had bought bags of pure water and laid ambush on the members to commence their meeting.
The trader further said, the suspects wore a T-shirt branded with the PDP logo and pictures of President Goodluck Jonathan.
A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Kemisola Adesanya, representing Akure South Constituency, has been fingered in the incident, a close ally told SaharaReporters.
The suspected thugs were said to be the political agents of a female lawmaker who played a significant role in rigging the election that brought her into the Parliament. She has since threatened never to see any other political party having meeting in the street except the PDP.
